What is tarot, really?
At Friendly Universe Tarot, tarot is not a tool to tell your future — it’s a way to meet your present.
Each card is an archetype: a symbolic reflection of the thoughts, feelings, and stories that may be alive in you. We don’t see the cards as fixed messages. We see them as mirrors — gently offering insight, clarity, and loving curiosity.
You are the one with the wisdom. The cards help you connect to it.
Are you predicting my future?
Nope. We’re not in the business of certainty — we’re in the practice of presence.
Friendly Universe Tarot doesn’t predict what will happen. Instead, we invite you into a reflective space where your own clarity can arise. The future is unknown and beautifully fluid. We explore what’s here now, and what choices or inner shifts might open new doors.
What if I pull a scary card?
We welcome all cards — even the ones with a dramatic reputation.
There are no “bad” cards in this deck. Cards like Death, The Tower, or The Devil often show up when something important is ready to be released, transformed, or reclaimed. We approach every card as a compassionate teacher, inviting inquiry — not fear.
This feels vulnerable. What if I see something I don’t want to see?
Then we meet it with kindness.
You’re never pushed, rushed, or pressured in a Friendly Universe Tarot session. If something feels too raw or uncertain, we slow down. We breathe. You’re always in control of what we explore.
This is a space of tenderness, not judgment.
Is this spiritual? Is it against my beliefs?
Our approach is rooted in self-inquiry, not religion.
Tarot can bring up resistance for some, especially if you were taught it’s “wrong” or “dangerous.” We get that. At Friendly Universe Tarot, the cards are simply creative prompts — much like art, poetry, or journaling.
You don’t need to believe anything to find value here. You just need a little openness to meet yourself in a new way.
How is this different from traditional tarot?
We blend tarot with The Work of Byron Katie — a radical process of self-inquiry.
Rather than telling you what’s going to happen or what to do, we use the cards to explore the thoughts and stories shaping your experience. Together, we question what’s true, what’s possible, and what’s waiting to be loved.
This is not fortune-telling. It’s truth-listening.
